Marilyn Monroe’s 1956 T-bird
Prestige Thunderbird recently completed a frame off restoration of a 1956 Thunderbird originally owned by Hollywood Legend Marilyn Monroe. The car was restored for the current owner who tracked it down after it being unknown for more than 50 years. The owner acquired the documentation proving it was in fact Marilyn’s T-bird.
Marilyn Monroe owned the Thunderbird from 1955 to 1962. She gave the T-bird to Jason Strasberg son of director Lee Strasberg as a birthday gift in 1962. Photos published show Marilyn in the T-bird waving as her husband Arthur Miller was driving. The T-bird was driven to their civil ceremony on June 28, 1956 and to the private wedding on June 30, 1956.
It was a great honor and privilege for us to restore the car and to watch the auction take place in selling a part of a Hollywood Legend. It was recently sold at auction for close to $490,000
